Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has given his opinion on one of the players who played in the 1-1 draw against Russia yesterday, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle’s unbeaten record as coach of the Super Eagles extended to five games yesterday when substitute Tolu Arokodare pounced on a mistake by the Russian goalkeeper to draw Nigeria level.
The coach handed a first start to Getafe forward Uche Chrisantus shortly after making his debut in the final game of the Unity Cup tournament, by coming on as a substitute in the 5-4 penalty kicks win over Jamaica after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Yesterday he handed Krasnodar forward Kunle Olusegun his debut following his introduction as a substitute, and he praised the 23 year old, who was handed a late call up owing to the unavailability of some players invited for the game.
“He is very fast, he does not lose the ball. I am glad that he came to the team. He still needs to work on himself a lot, to learn a lot. Olusegun showed excellent results during the week of working with us. As for his game for Krasnodar, I think he needs to be more decisive to take the game more upon himself”, the coach said of the former Nigeria U17 star who won the league title in Russia.
