The substantive captain of the senior national team of Nigeria Ahmed Musa has left the team’s camp at the ongoing Unity Cup ahead of their final game against Jamaica, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Musa was a 60th minute substitute in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Ghana, which sealed Nigeria’s spot in Saturday’s final but he won’t be available after leaving the camp before today’s training session.
We can exclusively reveal that Musa left the camp with the permission of head coach Eric Chelle, who handed him his first appearance for the team in over 18 months and also his first since returning to Nigeria Premier Football League side Kano Pillars.
His reasons according to what we gathered is connected to his upcoming wedding on the 1st of June in Kaduna, and with the final scheduled for 31st of May he had to leave today.
Chelle will decide on handing him an invitation in the future with the team’s next commitment in the World Cup Qualifiers in September.
