The Super Eagles of Nigeria took a commanding 2-0 half time lead against Ghana to put themselves in in a good positioning to make it to the final of the Unity Cup, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Cyriel Dessers made up for missing two opportunities with a smart finish in the 14th minute by making the best of an unfortunate slip by a Ghanian defender in his bid to clear a cross from Samaila Sodiq.
Semi Ajayi’s deflected header from a free kick from Samuel Chukwueze doubled the lead for the Eric Chelle led side in the 19th minute, leaving Ghana confused.
Super Eagles failed to put the game to bed with Papa Daniel attempting a lob with the goalkeeper beaten, and a deflected effort from Frank Onyeka had the Ghanaian goalkeeper Benjamin Asare scrambling but both wasn’t enough to give Nigeria a commanding halftime lead leaving Ghana with all to do in the second half.
