Nigeria international shot stopper Francis Uzoho was at the center of heavy criticism from fans of his club after his team threw away a three goal lead to draw 3-3 in a league playoff game, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Omonia Nicosia were cruising with three goals ahead in the first 26 minute of the game, a lead they held till two minutes to the break when their host Aris Limassol pulled a goal back.
They completed the comeback within a space of ten minutes with the second and third goal scored in the 54th and 64th minute respectively. Uzoho instantly became the target in what was only his third game of the season that is almost ending.
He has conceded six goals in three games, with his only clean sheet coming in last weekend 1-0 win over Apollon. The 26 year old has been second choice to Brazilian goalkeeper Fabiano for three seasons and hasn’t done himself any good in today’s game.
With the senior national team of Nigeria, where he was first choice goalkeeper at the 2018 World Cup he lost his spot to Stanley Nwabali of South Africa side Chippa Utd just before the start of the last AFCON one year ago. He hasn’t been called up since the tournament.
