Former coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro has been sacked as the coach of Egyptian side Zamalek according to an announcement by the club.
Peseiro was sacked following a string of poor results since he was appointed three months ago, the peak of which was the 2-2 draw against National Bank in their last game, which was the fourth round of the final phase of the league championship.
The decision to fire the coach was made a lot easier as his deal doesn’t carry a termination clause, but he is owed two months salary in addition to this month’s pay despite his sacking.
His outstanding salary is said to be around a total of $210,000, which is equivalent to ten and a half million Egyptian pounds, and it was discussed between all parties involved before the decision to part ways was reached after yesterday’s meeting.
It was the first job of Peseiro since leading the Super Eagles to the final of the last AFCON, where they were defeated by host Cote d’Ivoire 1-2 in the final.
