Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle is hopeful that Chelsea defender Tosin Adarabiyio will finally take up the option of representing Nigeria after positive talks between them, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively report.
Tosin has been a target for the senior national team of Nigeria since 2018, but insist he wants to play for England when he was approached by former coaches in Gernot Rohr, Jose Peseiro and Austine Eguavoen.
Chelle who is searching for more options in defence spoke with the player’s elder brother Gbolahan who also doubles as his agent, and per what we exclusively gathered the talks were positive with another meeting scheduled for London when the Super Eagles play in the Unity Cup in England.
No quick decision is expected as the player still need to apply for a switch of nationality from FIFA and also get a Nigerian passport, before he can be said to be eligible for the team.
