Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has compiled the list of players who will represent Nigeria in the upcoming Unity Cup friendly tournament in England alongside Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana and Jamaica.
Nigeria will play their first game against Ghana on the 28th of May, where a win will see them take on the winner between Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago in the other game of the tournament.
Shortly after the tournament in England, they will travel to Russia where they will take on the suspended national team in another friendly game in preparation for the resumption of the world cup qualifiers in August.
We can exclusively gathered that Lille forward Chuba Akpom who is on loan from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam will be in the squad for the game, which will see the team play without most of their regulars as it clashes with their club commitments.
Akpom who represented England at various youth levels before switching to Nigeria still need to get a Nigerian passport, before he will be eligible to play in the game according to our sources.
This season after starting it with Ajax and scoring ten goals , he moves to Ligue 1 side Lille in January and has scored twice in 11 games this season.
