As many as six senior players of the Nigeria national team will be on the move in the summer transfer window, when it opens at the end of the season, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Led by first choice striker Victor Osimhen who will certainly leave Napoli at the end of this season, after spending the entirety of it on loan to Turkish side Galatasary.
His tally of 29 goals and one assist in all competitions this season means he won’t be short of suitors especially after Napoli reduced their demand to a reasonable €65m.
Ademola Lookman who is Osimhen’s partner in the Super Eagles attack will also leave Atalanta at the end of the season with one year left on his current at the end of this season, and his refusal to sign an extension.
The reigning Africa player of the year will be available for a fee in excess of €60m, and a return to England appears to be what he is very much interested although it could change when the window opens.
Samuel Chukwueze at Italian Serie A side AC Milan has been told he is surplus to requirements after two underwhelming seasons, and he has been told he can leave for another club with teams in England and also his former side Villarreal open to signing him.
Right back Ola Aina will be out of contract in the summer at Nottingham Forest, and although he could be tempted to remain at the club if they secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League, he is however free to leave at the end of the season.
Aina’s full back companion in the Nigerian team Bright Osayi-Samuel has also turned down three different offers to extend his deal with Turkish side Fenerbahce. He is said to be a subject of interest from teams in England following a failed move to Fulham in the January transfer window.
The last name on our list is lanky defender Semi Ajayi who have been out injured since November. His contract at English Championship side West Bromwich Albion will run out in the summer, and all efforts to reach an extension has so far not worked out paving the way for his exit in the summer.
