Head coach of Zimbabwe Michael Nees has praised the way the Super Eagles of Nigeria approached the world cup qualifiers game against Rwanda in Kigali which they won 2-0, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Nees will on Tuesday lead his team against the Super Eagles smarting from a comeback 2-2 draw against Benin Republic, a day before their host on Tuesday defeated Rwanda away from home.
The coach who has already arrived in Nigeria was left impressed with the flexibility of the Nigerian side during the win over Rwanda, particularly the way they changed formations and also positions during the course of the game.
” Nees was very impressed. At some point they look like it’s 3-5-2 and other times like 4-3-2-1. On paper it was 4-1-3-2 but in the second half they switched to 4-3-3 and killed the game by holding on to possession”, a team source was quoted as saying upon arrival in Uyo.
In conclusion, he said while the Super Eagles have enough quality to be flexible and also switch positions during games, they boast of a very good structure and organization which they intend to use to good effect at the Godswill Akpabio stadium.
” When you are blessed with players of that quality it is very easy to be flexible tactically. We have a structure and our strength is based on our organization. We will go all out for a result on Tuesday knowing that a loss will effectively end our chances of making it to the world cup in 2026″, he stated.
