The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointment of the former coach of Mali Eric Chelle as the new coach of the senior national team of Nigeria.
Nigeria have been without a substantive coach since the short term of Finidi George, which lasted just a month with interim coach Austine Eguavoen guiding them successfully through the qualifiers for the AFCON.
Eguavoen will now return to his role as the technical director of the football house with Chelle taking his spot as the coach of the team for the world cup qualifiers, which resumes in March.
Per what we exclusively gathered, the new coach will sign a short term contract to cover the games of the world cup qualifiers which will round up in October.

He will bring two of his assistants, who will be paid $5,000 a month, while he goes home with $50,000 a month. An amount which is way less than what he currently earns at Algerian side MC Oran.
The Nigerian duo of Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu will also be a part of his technical crew , and he will also double as their boss for the CHAN Championship which will be prosecuted by players playing in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
