The newly appointed coach of the U20 team of Nigeria Aliyu Zubairu says has opened up on the inclusion of foreign based players in his team as they step up preparations for the WAFU tournament, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Currently perfecting his selection for the tournament and also trying to build a team , the coach who is facing a race against time for his team to be ready for the tournament touched a bit on their preparations so far.
While admitting that it’s a tough task trying to raise a team before settling for a pattern of play, the coach said he will call some foreign based players who were part of the last team of Ladan Bosso that went all the way to the quarter final of the U20 World Cup. The team also won the WAFU tournament.
” I will call some foreign based players who are part of the team, because we can’t build on nothing owing to the lack of time available for us to raise a team but they have to be within the age bracket to play for this team”, the coach said.
Already three players from the team he mentioned who are still in Nigeria have been part of his plans in Daniel Daga, Daniel Bameyi and Ibrahim Abdullahi.
