Kenneth Otigba says he has been told by the management of Dutch side Heerenveen that he can leave the club this summer despite the fact that his current contract still has two years to run.
23 year old Otigba has been at the Dutch side since 2011 raking up 88 appearances in the league for the Dutch side and his fine performances have lead to talks of interest in his services from Turkish side Trabzonspor and the English based duo of Middlesbrough and Derby County.
The hard tackling defender who has long indicated his interest to play for Nigeria instead of Hungary whom he represented at youth level reportedly snubbed a move to Liverpool three seasons ago has now been told he can leave the club by the new coach of the team.
“The new coach and Technical Director Gerry Hamstra confirmed to me that I can leave to another club this summer but have looked around and there’s nothing concrete, I do not know when this will happen but am calm and prepared” He told SoccerNews.nl.
“I don’t have a preference for now but they have been different contacts and talks have taken place but there’s nothing specific”

He however dispelled any talk of a fallout with the new manager and even praised his training methods which he said although it’s different from the former manager he still feels comfortable during sessions.
