Former fans favourite Victor Moses snubbed the chance of a return to the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Moses quit the senior national team of Nigeria after the 2018 World Cup in Russia and he isn’t open to the idea of having a change of mind as by turning down a recent approach to play for the team.
The recently turned 33 year old who now plays for Russian side Spartak Moscow was approached by head coach of the team Jose Peseiro before the start of the world cup qualifiers, with the coach keen on having more experienced players in his team.
He was approached by Peseiro who isn’t entirely comfortable with the duo of Ahmed Musa and William Troost-Ekong as the senior figures in the team, and wanted ditching them in favor of the winger, who left the international scene with 12 goals from 38 caps with the team.

However that request was turned down by Moses and not even the lure of a spot in the sqaud for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire swayed him. The AFCON 2013 winner insists that he has closed that chapter in his career.
