Boavista of Portugal midfield hardman Rueben Gabriel has told owngoalnigeria.com about how sad he was after he was sent off in their 2-1 win away to Tondela.

Gabriel was given his marching order by referee Hugo Miguel in the 35th minute after picking up two bookings and the man who scored his first goal for the team and in Europe last week labelled the incident as unfortunate.

“It’s one of those unfortunate incident one can’t explain, am very sad over it and my apologies goes to my teammates,my gratitude as well goes to them because they won in my absence” He told owngoalnigeria.com

The red card was his second sending off in Europe after he was sent off in 2014 while playing for Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premier League.

25 year old Gabriel will be sorely missed by Boavista who are battling to beat the drop to the second division in Portugal as they are presently 17th on the 18 team log.

However while he has been having games same can be said about Michael Uchebo but not the other Nigerian at the club Uche Nwofor who has just 4 appearances to his name this season.
