Red haired Nigerian U-20 midfielder Gavi Thompson popularly referred to as “Paul Scholes” is the shock inclusion in Nigeria U-20s starting 11 against Sudan in the first leg of the final round of qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Youth Championship.
Thompson was preferred ahead of team’s regular midfielder Kingsley Michael who drops to the bench while Tobechukwu Ibeh comes in for the injured John Lazaruz who didn’t make the trip.
The game will kickoff by 6pm Nigerian time but 8pm in Sudan.
