All invited players of the senior national team of Nigeria took part in the team’s first training session ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Sao Tome and Principe in Uyo on Sunday, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Among the 23 players who trained were the three new players in the team namely Jordan Torunarigha, Gift Orban and Victor Boniface. They will be hoping to make their international bow against Sao Tome and Principe.
Nigeria have already booked a spot at the tournament which will take place next year in Cote d’Ivoire giving room to hear coach Jose Peseiro to try new players, especially with the world cup qualifiers set to begin in November.
Former Germany youth international Torunarigha, the son of former Nigeria junior international Ojokojo is among the new players hoping to make his debut on Sunday. The 26 year old who plays for Belgium side Gent took to his social media page to share his take on his first training session.
