The Nigeria U20 team made it two wins out of two with a 2-0 win over Italy in their second group game of the ongoing U20 World Cup in Argentina, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

A barren first half which had chances for both teams gave way for an explosive second half edged by Nigeria with goals from Salem Fago Lawal and Jude Sunday late on to inflict the first defeat on Italy.

Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman rates the players on parade for Nigeria in the game.

Chijioke Anigboso – Capped a five star performance with an assist for the second goal. Solid in dealing with crosses. Commanded his area really well and showed good reflexes when called upon. Solid showing….. 8/10

Daniel Bameyi – An improved performance from the first game. Won all his duels and joined the attack. Stepped up when the team needed to see out the win. The captain has truly made that right back spot his…. 7.5/10

Solomon Agbalaka – Erratic in possession but very industrious in winning it back. Put in a strong shift defensively which limited his contribution higher up the pitch. Nothing went past him….. 7.5/10

Abel Ogwuche – For the second game running he stood out tall alongside his partner Benjamin Fredrick. Defended with ease and distributed the ball nicely. Italy didn’t have any joy trying to get past him….. 8/10

Benjamin Fredrick – It’s like he had a role swap with his partner Ogwuche. Targeted by the Italians but answered all questions excellently. The timing of his tackles, interceptions and passes from the back was such a beauty to see from a 17 year old….. 8.5/10

Daniel Daga – Ran the show like a boss. Broke up play and initiated attacks with ease. Took the game by the scruff of the neck from the blast of the whistle and didn’t stop going till the end. Surely has a bright future if he keeps this momentum going….. 9/10

Samson Lawal – He was his usual lively self but with little room to operate he was guilty of wasting possession thrice in the first half. It probably led to why he was subbed off before the start of the second half….. 5/10

Victor Eletu – Carried the ball confidently with his combination with Daga making the Italian run  circles with no end product. Kept the ball well, moved the ball really well. He has indeed come to stay in this team….. 7/10

Mohammed Beji – Had a performance he will love to forget in a hurry. Subbed off at the start of the second half after failing to make any meaningful contribution in the first 45 minutes….. 4/10

Jude Sunday – Took his goal really well. Ran the defence of Italy ragged and made better decision in the final third than he did in the first game. He is the team’s surest route to goal and he hasn’t disappointed so far….. 8/10

Salem Fago Lawal – Scored the opening goal of the game. Led the line really well as he held up play brilliantly. He scored just when he was about to be subbed off….. 7/10

Substitutes:

Emmanuel Umeh – Created the first goal from almost nothing as he made the use of a loose ball in the box. Uses his body really well, tormented the Italian with his strength, pace and skills….. 7/10

Haliru Sarki – Ran at the Italians with ease. His pace was a menace all game long and his dribbling abilities has already endeared him to the fans at Mendoza. Lively performance….. 7/10

Tochukwu Nnadi – Still hasn’t got up to his high standard. Lost his spot in the starting lineup to Eletu and didn’t do enough to suggest he will get it back….. 6/10

John Joshua – Got lost when he was introduced as the team needed to defend their lead. In the end he had more defensive than offensive actions….. 6/10
