Italian gjants Inter Milan have won the race for the signing of 18 year old Nigeria midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro from the youth ranks of Nigeria Professional Football League side Remo Stars, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.
Akinsanmiro stole the show at the prestigious Viareggio youth tournament in Italy, where he represented the U18 of the NPFL side called Alex Transfiguration FC. They finished as runners up to Sassuolo.
He however did enough to catch the attention of top teams in Europe and according to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, a deal with Inter Milan is near completion following an agreement with Remo Stars for the 18 year old.
They said Inter Milan saw off competition from Benfica and also Real Madrid to seal the signing of the teen star, who will be a part of the strengthening of their U19 team who are champions of the U19 League in Italy. They however need new players as most of the key players have made the step up to the main team.
