The debate surrounding the international future of fast rising Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman has tilted in favor of the English national team, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
During the course of the week, we exclusively revealed his invitation to the U20 team of Nigeria by coach of the team Ladan Bosso. The invitation had some grey areas which we gathered had to do with transporting himself to the camp of the Nigerian team.
He was asked to pay his way to the camp in Abuja, where the team is currently fine tuning preparations for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt next month. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) promised to reimburse him when he comes.
The invitation came at a time when England have already made an approach to him already. According to a report in the online edition of Punch newspaper, he has started training with England U20 with an unnamed source claiming the invitation from Nigeria came late as against what we heard.

“The goalkeeper will not be honouring the invitation because it came late. He is already with the England team but he was actually ready to play for Nigeria. He, however, looks forward to honouring future invitations whenever he is called upon”, a source told Punch.
