Hot in demand Nigeria international Moses Simon won’t be allow to leave French Ligue 1 side Nantes on a cheap according to an agent working on a deal for the Nigerian in next summer.

Simon has in the past few months grown into a key player for both club and country following up his dazzling performance at the Africa Cup of Nations with strong showing for Nantes.

Nantes have moved from a team that narrowly beat the drop last season to one that is pushing for a continental spot this season as despite losing 0-1 to Troyes last weekend, they are still within a spot to qualify for Europe.

Simon has been key to that change in fortune as he has contributed with ten goals contribution by having seven assists and three goals. A form that hasn’t gone unnoticed by top teams around Europe.

Leeds United were the first to sound out the 26 year old but that have since lost ground in the race to Newcastle United, who have been told it will cost in excess of £25 million to have the Nigerian next season.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, an agent who is aware of the interest from Newcastle United said the fee could go as high as £40 million if Nantes get their way by inserting some clauses in the planned deal.

Their stand can simply be interpreted as telling all parties involved in the race for his signing that it will cost lot of money to have the ex Levante and Gent ace.
