Arnold Groeneveld Danjuma says he could switch his international allegiance to Nigeria, two years after turning down an invitation to represent the West Africa country.

Danjuma was called up by coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr almost at same time when he was called up by the Netherlands and the Lagos born winger picked the Dutch side.

After making his debut in the Nations League game against Germany on the 13th of October 2018, he also played in the friendly game against Belgium where he scored his first goal three days later.

Since those games he hasn’t gotten a look in despite his impressive form for Bournemouth who are 5th on the English Championship table and pushing for promotion to the English Premier League.

He has weighed in with 14 goals and 7 assists in 25 starts making it one of his most productive spell at the club. He is now mulling over the idea of making a u-turn on his international future using the new FIFA rule for players who made their senior debut at the age of 21 or under and want to switch nationality.

A new rule approved by FIFA in September means players can switch nations, if they have played no more than three competitive games prior to them turning 21.

He said: “I’ve heard some bits about Nigeria but I can’t say too much about it though.

“My mum is Nigerian and my father lived 23 years in Nigeria as well.
“The culture is still within the family, so it’s not disregard for the Nigerian side. It’s a choice I will think about but I need some time, obviously.
“I think they are interested but obviously I play for the Dutch national team already, I scored for the national team already, so I’ve made that decision.
“With the choice, I would like to represent Holland as well but then again I’m not being called up at the moment.
“So on the back of that, maybe I need to make some decisions.
“I’ve played for Holland at senior level. One cap in the Nations League and one against Belgium but that wasn’t an official match. They have changed the rules so, if you have one cap, you can still change.
