NFF Denies Frustrating Plans Of Three Ex England Youth Internationals To Switch Allegiance To Nigeria

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has rubbished reports that they are behind the delay in the switch of allegiance process of three former England youth internationals to the senior national team of Nigeria.

According to some media reports in Nigeria, the NFF is partly responsible for the delay in the completion of the switch of nationality process of Ademola Lookman, Ovie Ejaria and Ike Ugbo.

All three players have since filed papers with FIFA to enable them represent Nigeria at senior level but after two years, they are still not cleared to play for the senior national team of Nigeria.

NFF on their part said they have little or no influence on the process as it is handled by FIFA, the players representatives and the respective FA of the country they have played for.

“ We have no control over it. It’s not something we can help even in the area of securing passports for some players we couldn’t force through the process. So how can we be behind the delay in having Lookman, Ejaria and Ugbo cleared? It’s laughable”, a chieftain of the NFF told Owngoalnigeria.com.
