The invitation of Viv Solomon-Otabor has continue to dominate discussions in the Nigerian football circle with many criticising coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr over the decision to call the 23 year old.
Solomon-Otabor has failed to score in nine games this season despite playing as a forward and in the games he has played only twice has he lasted the entire duration of the games, a sign of how low he is rated by the club.
Speaking to Owngoalnigeria.com, Bulgaria football expert, Martin Lukov told Owngoalnigeria.com that the decision to call the forward has caused lot of jokes mocking Nigeria considering the fact that Solomon-Otabor hasn’t done anything spectacular to warrant a call up.
” I really wonder the game that made him to be called up to the senior national team of Nigeria, a team that has lot of quality players doing well. It will interest you to know that a certain Nigerian defender Stephen Eze who is a central defender has scored three goals this season while Solomon-Otabor a forward has none”, Lukov told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” One can understand if he has shown something else other than goals but there is nothing in his game aside from failed crosses, runs that ends up with him losing the ball and also shocking decision where firmly placed. It’s a joke how he got called up”.
