Rio Ave Nigerian midfielder Sunday Abalo has secured a loan move to Leixoes until the end of the season.

The 20 year old has found limited game time at Rio Ave this season hence dropped a level down to Leixoes where he is guarantee to continue the remarkable growth he showed last season.

He earned himself a reputation as a tough,hard tackling defensive midfielder playing 14 games in all competition with 7 appearances in the league and was shown one yellow card in his debut season in Portugal.

However this season he has only featured in one game for Rio Ave ironically against the team he recently joined helping Rio Ave to a 2-1 win away at Estadio do Mar where will now be his home ground.

Abalo impressed the team despite picking up a yellow card in the 6th minute of the encounter and will be hoping he gets adequate game time to help effect Leixoes poor standing in the league.

Leixoes are currently 18th in the 20 team Segunda Liga table in Portugal four points away from relegation to the third level.
