Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho is leaving no stone unturn in his bid to make the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, Owngoalnigeria.com understands.
Iheanacho didn’t have the best of season at Leicester City but was listed by coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr in his 25 man list for the 2019 AFCON.
His inclusion divided opinions with many questioning the logic behind naming him in the squad ahead of other players who had a better season than the former Manchester City teen wonder.
In his bid to prove his doubters wrong, Iheanacho who is on holiday following the conclusion of the regular English football season has hired a personal trainer to keep him in shape ahead of the resumption of camp for the tournament.
