A chance to take his trade abroad has been shunned by emerging Nigerian wing forward Ibrahim Abubakar Babawo, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The Plateau United Nigeria U20 international was approached by several teams after his participation at the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, where Nigeria finished fourth but still qualified for the World Youth Championship.
Babawo who didn’t quite live up to expectations still caught the attention of several teams in Europe but so far a second division Turkish side, who are likely to gain promotion are the front runners for his signing.
The move has been placed on hold though with his representatives deciding that he will only be available for transfer after the U20 World Youth Championship in Poland later this year.
Owngoalnigeria.com also gathered that teams in Sweden, Norway, Slovakia and Denmark have also signify their interest in the forward who is nicknamed ” New Ahmed Musa ” due to his similar style of play with that of the vice-captain of the senior national team of Nigeria.
