FC Midtjylland of Denmark forward Paul Onuachu says his first goal for the senior national team of Nigeria is the perfect way to introduce himself to the fans of the team, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Onuachu scored in the opening 8 seconds of Nigeria’s 1-0 friendly win over Egypt on Tuesday in what was his first start for Nigeria after making his debut against Seychelles on Friday in a dead rubber AFCON 2019 Qualifiers tie which Nigeria won 3-1.
Speaking on his goal for the Super Eagles, the 24 year old who has maintain his record as top scorer of Danish side FC Midtjylland for three seasons consecutively says scoring very early into your debut is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the fans.
” Fans of the Super Eagles are very demanding. So I needed to do something special for them to know me. That goal is special to me. I can’t remember any other goal that is so special to me. Probably the one I scored against Manchester United in the Europa League “, Onuachu told Owngoalnigeria.com.
