Chippa United net minder Daniel Akpeyi says he is ready to fill in for goalkepper Carl Ikeme who is suspended for Tuesday all important AFCON 2017 qualifiers against Egypt.
Akpeyi will battle Nigeria CHAN 2016 safe hands Ikechukwu Ezenwa for the number one spot in Ikeme’s absence when the Super Eagles take on Egypt in Alexandria.
“Have been around the team for a while so am not new to the set-up neither am I jittery about the task of filling in for Ikeme” He told owngoalnigeria.com.
“Though it’s a sad thing to be without Ikeme in a game of this magnitude but that’s why the coach called up three goalkeppers and whoever get the nod to start in Egypt will definitely not let Nigerians down” He concluded.
