Respected Argentina media outfit TyCSports have termed the absence of Moses Simon in Nigeria’s squad for the World Cup due to injury as cheering news to the national team of Argentina.

A third scan carried out on the Gent star in England confirmed he will be needing time to recover from the muscle injury he picked up during a shooting practice after training in Uyo.

22 year old Simon was widely tipped to play a starring role for Nigeria at the World Cup before the injury blow which even coach Gernot Rohr admitted will affect his plans when the World Cup in Russia begins.

Argentina are in the same group with Nigeria, Croatia and Iceland and according to TyCSports Simon’s injury enforced absence is going to affect Nigeria when both teams clash in the final round of group D matches.

” The team of Nigeria will be low in potency at the World Cup following the exclusion of Moses Simon who scored Nigeria’s only goal against Cameroon and provided the assist that resulted in the third of the 4-0 defeat inflicted on the African champions in Uyo last September “, the media outfit noted.

TyCSports also went a step further to prove how important Moses is to the Nigerian squad by citing him as the player with the most minutes played for Nigeria during the qualifiers and also finished as second highest goal scorer of the team.
