He scored five times last season, and bar his goals he was also very entertaining to watch, with the manner in which he completes his dribbles with pace one of the rare skills the league saw last year.

Signed after a short trail before the start of last season, the fair skinned forward who made a total of 16 league appearances last season signed a fresh three years deal to keep him at the club for the next four seasons.

Ifeanyi Matthew ( Lillestroem)

The former Nigeria youth international was already a household name in Nigeria before moving to Norway in 2016. Thanks to his dazzling displays for El-Kanemi Warriors and Kano Pillars in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Since moving to ‎Lillestroem, he has made a combined total 38 appearances in league games and last season played in all of the league games of Lillestroem during the regular season .

Still only 21 years old, Matthew showed his true worth in the second half of the season after fellow Nigerian Charles Ezeh joined him at the club, and in the build up to the start of the league, it’s only normal he makes the list of top ten players to watch.

Last season he scored five goals despite playing from the right full back position and more often as the deepest of the team’s midfielder. As the season gets underway this weekend, no doubt eyes would be fixated on the former golden boy of Kano Pillars.
