The chances of Nigeria international striker Henry Onyekuru making the Nigerian team to the World Cup received a huge boost, as he is back in Belgium for the final phase of his rehabilitation from the injury he suffered in December.
Onyekuru went off injured while playing for his loan side Anderlecht during a league game against his former team Eupen. He then went to England to start rehabilitation at his parent club Everton.
After weeks in England, where it was confirmed that he won’t be needing surgery, the 21 year old is back in Belgium for the final phase of the process of his recovery from the injury.
Anderlecht announced on their official twitter handle that the Nigerian was present at their training centre in Brussels, where the final phase of his rehabilitation will take place.

Although there is no time scale for his return. He is however sure to play again before the end of this season, if he doesn’t suffer any set back as opposed to earlier reports ruling him out for the rest of the season.
His likely return to active action will no doubt leave the door open for him to press for inclusion in the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria ahead of the World Cup in Russia later in the year.
