Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun will make history when Nigeria take on Algeria tomorrow if he gets to play as he will be the first Nigerian player to play in protective face mask for Nigeria.
Balogun fractured his cheek in during a league game for Mainz 05 which they lost 0-2 to Schalke 04 , and after surgery he was widely expected to be in face mask.
Owngoalnigeria.com reported the defender not wearing the mask in training, but at the start of contact training when they were split into two teams, Balogun put on the face mask.

He is expected to wear same against Algeria tomorrow and probably against Argentina on Tuesday in Russia as he bids his way to full recovery after surgery.
