Super Eagles of Nigeria and Mainz 05 defender Leon Balogun who was widely expected to be in face mask for the Super Eagles in their upcoming games trained without one this morning.
Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report that the Mainz 05 defence hard man who had surgery for a cheek bone fracture picked up in Mainz 05 0-2 loss to Schalke 04 didn’t train with the mask yesterday as well.
Balogun was widely expected to be in protective face mask but it appears the 29 year old would not be needing one as opposed to last season, when he had to wear the mask after picking up a similar injury.

He showed no sign of discomfort as well during the decision, and bar a change of mind from coach Gernot Rohr he is expected to line up alongside his favourite defence partner William Troost-Ekong against Algeria on Friday.
