The scramble to get out of favour players back in the Eagles fold ahead of the World Cup in Russia next year has started in earnest with some members of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) already drawing up names to be considered by coach Gernot Rohr.
Rohr on his part has already revealed his desire to have former goalkeeper and captain Vincent Enyeama back in the team due to his experience, and the unfortunate case of Carl Ikeme who has been diagnosed with Leukaemia.
Although the NFF have constantly denied having anything against the return of Enyeama, top sources at the football house in Nigeria confirmed that some members are opposed to the idea of Enyeama returning back to the team considering the circumstances which he left the team.
Enyeama left after a row with former coach Sunday Oliseh, and despite all attempts to bring him back after the incident, he stuck to his guns but until Rohr convinced him to return back to the team.

At the moment, Godfrey Obaboana and Obafemi Martins who are based in Saudi Arabia and China are the two players some members of the NFF want to see in the team ahead of the World Cup.
The duo are on the good books of several board members and decision makers at the football house, but approaching Rohr to include them in the team has so far proved abortive.
Rohr is said to be steadfast in picking players based on merit and in areas where his team need options in terms of experience, and so far Martins and Obaboana are not the type of players he is looking at despite their World Cup experience.
