Arsenal and Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Alex Iwobi is seriously pushing for a starting spot when Nigeria take on Zambia later today at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Iwobi admitted he is unsure of starting against Zambia due to his absence from their back to back games against Cameroon, with Moses Simon who played in the left role of attack scoring to stake a claim for the spot.

However judging by the last two training session of the team held behind close doors, the Arsenal forward is giving coach Gernot Rohr a lot to think before the line up is released later today.

Rohr has hinted he will like to maintain the same team that played against Cameroon, but Iwobi has been severally involved with the Team A in their last two sessions, as Rohr keeps alternating him from B to the A team.

In their first close door session he scored the winner for team A after switching from the B team, with Simon taking his spot in the B team, but yesterday he started and scored for the A team in a close pitch game.

It’s left to be seen if his goals in the last two sessions plus his goal for Arsenal in the Premier League against Brighton Hove and Albion, will be enough to earn him a start ahead of Simon who for now still remains the favourite to start against Zambia.
