Portuguese top division side Vitoria de Setubal has confirmed the signing of 23 year old Nigerian midfielder Jacob Adebanjo formerly of AD Oliveirense on a three year deal.

Adebanjo arrived Portugal in 2014 when he joined Farense, but the midfielder who can also play wide on the flanks says his movement to Setubal will no doubt bring his talent to the attention of many.

“I am very happy and grateful to Vitória for giving me the opportunity to play for the first time in the main Portuguese League,” he told the club’s official website.

“Now I am not a known name, but soon, very soon, the fans will be satisfied with me,” promises the midfielder who defines himself as “a player who tries to help his teammates, who tries to win balls and defend” .
