Coach of Birmingham City Harry Redknapp has confirmed their interest in signing the vice captain of the senior Nigeria national team Ogenyi Onazi from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
Onazi is seriously tipped to join the Championship side in a deal worth £4m, and Redknapp confirmed talks are well underway for the former Lazio midfielder who threatened to terminate his contract with his present Turkish team last month.
Speaking on the possible capture of the 24 year old, Redknapp confirmed talks are underway to sign the midfielder who only moved to the Turkish side last summer.
” Onazi is someone we’re chasing, we’re trying to get him, hopefully but let’s see”, the manager said when asked about their interest in signing the Nigerian.

His agent Stephen Makinwa was coy when this portal asked him about the possible departure of his client, insisting that if a deal is done it will be announced by the clubs involved in the transfer.
