Nigeria international winger Chidera Ejuke has drawn the ire of LaLiga side Sevilla after he was seen in a viral video playing street football in Nigeria, where he is presently on holiday.
Ejuke has taken part in games in the city of Kaduna where he grew up. Giving locals who knew him in his formative years to have the chance of seeing him play live after his debut season in the Spanish top flight.
He didn’t have the best of seasons with injuries and fitness issues limiting him to just 25 games with just two goals and one assist. Back home he has been using the opportunity to once again put himself in top shape before the resumption of pre season training by playing street football.
That move appears to have angered the hierarchy of Sevilla according to Spanish news outlet AS , leading the club to take a decision on letting him leave in the summer transfer window in the event that a suitable offer arrives.
“Ejuke’s current behaviour, engaging in carefree, unsupervised matches during the holidays, is being interpreted by club insiders as a reflection of the same impulsiveness and lack of discipline that marked his inconsistent debut season in Spain,” AS stated on the winger who joined the team on a free transfer last summer.
“Sevilla are now reportedly open to offers for the winger and would not resist his departure if a suitable bid arrives.”
