Traditional Greek super power AEK Athens have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria international forward Cyriel Dessers on a three year deal, OwnGoalNigeria.com understands.
Dessers who scored 51 goals in two seasons with Scottish side Rangers is keen on the move to the 32 times champions of Greece, and has already agreed a weekly pay of €30,000 amounting to €1.8m a year.
The Greek side were taken over by shipping year, and he has his sight on recruiting the best players who can help the team improve on their 4th placed finish last year, with Dessers top among their targets.
All that is left for the deal to be official is for the club to agree a transfer fee for the 30 year old, who impressed for Nigeria at the Unity Cup with a goal and an assist as the team cruise to victory at the four teams tournament in England.
He is now in pole position to play his first ever competitive game for Nigeria when the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup resumes. Already he has won the hearts of head coach Eric Chelle with his performance in two games.
