Goalkeeper of the senior national team of Russia Stanislav Agkatsev has warned his teammates on want to expect from the Super Eagles of Nigeria when both teams clash in an international friendly game on Friday, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The game which will take place at the Luzhiniki stadium will be the first ever friendly game between both countries, with Russia coming into the game still suspended from competitive football by FIFA over their government’s invasion of Ukraine.
They have been involved in series of friendly games since the ban, and Agkatsev who has been in goal for most of the games say the Nigerian team, who are coming on the back of winning the Unity Cup friendly tournament will be their toughest opponent since their game against Serbia.
He made this known in an interview with Russian media outlet Sport-Express while speaking on his expectations from the game against Nigeria.
Have you seen Nigeria’s composition?
— I saw that their three main stars would not come. But in terms of composition, Nigeria can be compared to Serbia. From the last matches, they are the most serious opponent.
— How to prepare for such attackers?
– It’s interesting to show your strength against such football players. I want to play with such opponents more often.
