Head coach of the senior national team Eric Chelle has added four players to the squad of the team ahead of the upcoming friendly game against Russia, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Chelle had two separate list, one for the recently concluded Unity Cup and the other for the June 6th game against Russia, and after winning the Unity Cup with a 5-4 penalty kick win over Jamaica after drawing 2-2 in regulation time, the coach has decided to make some adjustments to the squad.
Brentford defender Benjamin Fredrick who gatecrashed the team, and gave a commanding performance all through the win against Jamaica have been added to the squad.
Also joining him is the trio of Saviour Isaac, Ismaila Sodiq and Sikiru Alimi. Who were all part of the Unity Cup team with Sodiq playing in all of the minutes of the tournament while Alimi started the first game. Saviour didn’t get to play.
All four players will team up with the rest of the invited players for the game in Russia, which is part of the preparation ahead of the resumption of games in the world cup qualifiers in September.
