As part of their preparation for next season, Spanish LaLiga side Sevilla will cut loose two of the three Nigerians on their books when the season officially comes to an end, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Sevilla presently has three Nigerians on their books namely Jerome Akor, Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho who spent the second half of last season on loan to English Championship side Middlesbrough.
Iheanacho has failed to prove why he was seen as a bargain buy when he was signed from Leicester City for free in the summer. He was recently termed a mistake by the club’s sporting director Victor Orta making his exit in the upcoming summer transfer window inevitable.
Ejuke has struggled with injury and fitness concerns but when he has gotten the chance to play he hasn’t quite convinced. The club will be open to his exit if a bid of around €5m is lodged for the 27 year old who joined for free in the summer after the expiration of his contract with Belgium side Antwerp.
Akor who is presently out injured isn’t affected by the purge following his January transfer move from recently relegated Ligue 1 side Montpellier. The club will be banking on him for goals next season.
