The squad of the senior national team of Nigeria for the upcoming Unity Cup has been submitted to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by head coach Eric Chelle, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Nigeria will begin their campaign at the tournament on the 28th of May with a game against Ghana before taking on either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago who will be up against each other in the other game of the tournament.
Chelle has already made the list available to the NFF and they have also reached out to the invited players for them to process their travelling visa to England. Already the players picked from the Nigeria Premier Football League have submitted their passport for visa.
” 11 home based players were picked in the list. Ten of them and other members of backroom staff were at the embassy last week for visa application. Ahmed Musa didn’t need to go because he has a valid UK visa”, a chieftain of the NFF said in an exclusive chat.
” I can also tell you that as many as 13 players based abroad if not more have also received their invitation to process their visa. We have some of the regulars and other fringe players in the list which will be made public this week”, he concluded.
