Players of the senior national team of Nigeria have assured head coach Eric Chelle that they will give their all in the game against Ghana despite the fact that it is a friendly game, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
The West African neighbors will clash at the Unity Cup in England on the 28th of May before a date with either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the other game of the friendly tournament.
Chelle will be without at least ten of his regular players for the tournament due to club commitments as they round up their respective seasons in Europe. He has however gotten assurances from a few others.
We gathered the around ten regulars who are sure to be around gave their world to the coach that they will give their best in the game especially as it is against Ghana, a side that they hold a huge grudge against.
Ghana stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the last world cup via the play off , but Nigeria won the last encounter between them which was a 2-1 win in a friendly game a little over a year ago. Both teams are using the tournament to prepare for the resumption of games in the world cup qualifiers.
