Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has included as many as eleven players from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in his list of players called up for the upcoming Unity Cup in England, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Chelle will be without top stars of the senior national team of Nigeria for the tournament, where they will take on Ghana on the 28th of May before taking on either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago three days later at the same venue, which is the home ground of English Premier League side Brentford.
The coach picked three players from NPFL Champions Remo Stars led by their captain Nduka Junior, striker Sikiru Alimi and defender Ismaila Sodiq. Enugu Rangers trio Ugwueze Collins, Isaac Saviour and central defender Ifeanyi Onyebuchi were also picked for the tournament.
Papa Daniel from Niger Tornadoes is also included with Ojetoye Waliu from NPFL surprise team of the season Ikorodu City getting an invite as well. Plateau United duo of Vincent Temitope and Adamu Abubakar were listed.
They will join Ahmed Musa who will return as captain after a fine campaign in the NPFL with Kano Pillars.
