Wrexham goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo became the one with the most clean sheets in the English League One after picking up his 17th of the season after helping his team to a 0-0 draw against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Trained at Arsenal , the 23 year old who was second choice at the Gunners two seasons ago has grown in leaps and bounds this season following a permanent move to League One side Wrexham.
Fully established as the first choice of the English Championship promotion chasing side he has conceded only 25 goals this season in 33 games in all competitions. 21 came in 29 games in the league.
His form hasn’t gone unnoticed by the coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle, who has made plans to meet with him when the Super Eagles play in the four team invitational tournament in England at the end of the season.
Okonkwo who has represented England at various youth levels is still eligible for Nigeria at senior level due to his parents, and sources say he is open to hearing from Chelle on his chances of teaming up with the Super Eagles.
