22 year old Rennes winger Kazeeem Olaigbe has been presented with the option of switching from Belgium to Nigeria by the head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Olaigbe moved to the French side Rennes in the January transfer window from Belgium side Cercle Brugge after impressing in the UEFA Conference, the expectation is that he will fully be a part of the starting lineup of the French side next season.
Born in the city of Brussels in Belgium, he has represented them at various youth levels from U15 to U21 but qualifies for Nigeria through his parents who are from the West Africa country.
Chelle has watched him closely and feels he will be a very good option from the wings especially the right side in his preferred diamond formation. A spot that is currently occupied by Samuel Chukwueze with little distinction.
A meeting with Olaigbe was planned for this week in France, but as at the time of this report it’s still unclear if they had met on the idea of playing for Nigeria, with a possible inclusion in the Super Eagles squad for the four team tournament in England on the horizon.
