Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Eric Chelle has reached out to Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha on pledging his international future to Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
Born to a Nigerian father and a Togolese mother in the Netherlands, the 22 year old has represented the Netherlands from U15 to U21 level but has in the past open up on his desire to play for the Super Eagles, during his days at Sparta Rotterdam where he was a teammate of Nigeria international goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
However he went on to play for the Dutch U21, but the option of playing for Nigeria is still on the table and his form at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg has caught the attention of Chelle and he is willing to have talks with him on playing for Nigeria.
Talks will likely hold later this month with Chelle due to spend time in France, where he will monitor players ahead of the upcoming four nations tournament in England, where they will be up against Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and Ghana respectively.
