A delegation from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will soon be in London to meet with the representative and family of Arsenal teen sensation Ethan Nwaneri.
The aim of their meeting will be to persuade the 18 year old to switch his nationality to the senior national team of Nigeria. He made his U21 debut for England last week but still remains eligible for Nigeria at senior level.
Rated as one of the brightest prospects in English football, the NFF are keen on testing the waters for his international future despite knowing that their chances are slim.
Former Nigeria defender Sam Sodje has however sounded a note of warning to the delegation: “He’s a fantastic talent. I watched him play against Brentford, and I was very impressed.

“However, convincing him to choose Nigeria over England will be a challenge. The English FA is also keen on keeping him, and they won’t let such a talent slip away easily. But in football, you never know.”
