Nigeria international defender Bruno Onyemaechi is close to finalizing a deal to join Greek side Olympiacos from troubled Portuguese side Boavista, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Stuck at the basement of the league table, Boavista are in a financial mess and will need to sell players to stay afloat with reports of an imminent ban looming in a few months time.
Despite their issues this season, Bruno remains one of their standout players, a reputation which he enhanced with another goal over the weekend in their 2-3 loss to Casa Pia. It was his 3rd goal of the season.
That game could be his last in their colors as he is suspended for the weekend game against Sporting Braga, and with an imminent transfer set for conclusion he could be out of the club the next time he plays football at club level.
Olympiacos according to several reports have already sorted out the key issues for the signing of the left back, who can also play as a center back in a back three. Personal terms have also been agreed with the mode of payment said to be the only hurdle left for the deal to happen.
